Knowsley A-Level Provision

Following my question in Parliament on Monday about the continuing lack of A-Level provision in Knowsley I spoke with Paul Salt from BBC Radio Merseyside on Tuesday afternoon.

At the moment, Knowsley is facing a minimum of a year without any A-level provision at all. And while the Government have said that they will help, they have not yet provided any concrete plans to do so. Knowsley Council wants this problem solved but are prevented from doing so by the academy system which stops local councils from being able to change the provision schools provide.

In the meantime, families of young people wanting to study for A-levels are forced to bear the financial burden of them travelling outside of the borough to do so. This situation cannot continue. It's high time the Government did something about it.
